Description

Quell is a liquid botanical blend, made with a combination of herbs which have been traditionally used to support the body’s natural anti-inflammatory processes, block or moderate the action of pro-inflammatory chemicals, and reduce the damage caused by excessive and long-lasting inflammation.

The Quell formula features a complement of botanicals (including nettle, horsetail, willow, meadowsweet, ginger and cinanmon) which are traditionally used to treat varous kinds of inflammation, both acute and chronic; as well as working to remove contributing factors towards inflammation and pain, including poor circulation, waste accrual in tissue, acid crystal accumulation in joint capsules, and immune system imbalance. Quell is naturally flavoured with cinnamon and spearmint, which makes it palatable and refreshing in flavour.

The herbs in Quell are prepared using a traditional hydroalcoholic extraction method, which enables a whole complement of important chemical and mineral compounds to be solubilised from raw herbs, into an easily-absorbed and naturally preserved, balanced, liquid blend. These natural plant compounds are reputed for their high safety margin, and low instance of side effects, particularly in comparison to harsh synthetic alternatives, including bute. Of course, every horse is an individual, and as with all new supplements, Quell should be introduced gradually, and monitored for compatibility with your horse’s individual constitution.

Usage and Rates: Quell is typically given at a rate of up to 6ml/100kg bodyweight AM and PM, as necessary.

What's Inside?

The Quell Formula Features:

Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica)

Provides antiinflammatory benefits including the moderation of cytokine release, is a rich source of chlorophyll and silica, and is a mild diuretic, which may in acid waste removal during inflammatory events. Silica is credited with improving rates of tissue repair, which may be of benefit after injury or an inflammatory event.

Horsetail (Equisetum arvense)

Rich in silica, horsetail is a traditional herb for for arthritis; it is said that by the doctrine of signatures, horsetail plant resembles knobbly joints, indicating that it is a medicine for such. Horsetail is used to assist in the dissolution and removal of acid crystal deposits which will otherwise wear away at soft joint capsules, causing degenerative damage and pain.

White Willow (Salix alba)

One of the original sources of salicylate (the raw material from which commercial aspirin is produced); salicylate naturally converts to aspirin-type compounds in the body, offering antiinflammatory and pain relief benefits, without the damaging side-effects of commercial aspirin products.

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria)

Another of the early aspirin sources; meadowsweet herb provides salicylates, and is traditionally used to address and relieve gout, arthritis, stomach complaints, and urinary disorders.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale)

A warming spice, ginger provides its own host of antiinflammatory benefits, and is traditionally used for gout, arthiritis and to reduce post-exercise muscular pains.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum)

Used to improve microcirculation; cinnamon is often added to botanical blends to improve delivery to target cells.

Spearmint (Mentha spicata)

Softly minty and refreshing, spearmint lifts the heavy taste of some antiinflammatory herbs, and is a digestif, offering benefits in relaxing and soothing digestion, and perhaps a troubled mind.
